Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department responded to Dunbar High School at approximately 10 a.m. on May 3, where there was a reported shooting in the area.
According to investigators, "it appears a bullet entered the school and grazed a student" who has minor injuries.
They also stressed that there is no active threat inside the school.
A BOLO was issued for a Black man wearing all dark clothing who was reportedly running toward New York Avenue following the incident.
More details are expected to be released.
